Welcome to the Chameleon Cloud blog. We're starting this blog series to bring you user tips and tricks, as well as training content for how to use Chameleon. For our first entry, we decided to bring you useful content for on-boarding new users.

The Chameleon team has worked hard to bring an OpenStack interface and workflow to bare metal access. However, those that are new to OpenStack may be interested in our series of on-boarding videos that teach the basics of how to sign up for an account and use Chameleon. If you are teaching with Chameleon, you may use these videos as a resource for your (documentation averse) students.

1. Chameleon Cloud On-Boarding for Students or Chameleon Cloud On-Boarding for PIs - PI elligible individuals can create a project as a new user and add additional users, such as students. If you are a student, you can create an account and request to be added to a PI or professor's project.
2. Reserving Hardware on Chameleon - Now that you are part of a Chameleon project, you can reserve nodes for use by creating reservation leases.
3. Creating SSH Keypairs on Chameleon - Before you can launch an instance, you need to secure it with an SSH Keypair. You can easily create SSH Keypairs on Chameleon.
4. Launching Instances on Chameleon - Now that you have a reservation and an SSH Keypair, you can launch your Chameleon instance!
5. Logging in via SSH for Linux/OSX Users or Logging in via SSH for Windows Users - Depending on your desktop operating system, there are different ways for logging in via SSH to your newly launched Chameleon instance.
